South Africa Reach Women’s World Cup Final for the First Time

In a historic moment at the ICC Women’s World Cup, South Africa defeated England by 125 runs to reach the Women’s World Cup Final for the first time. The semi-final took place in Guwahati, where South Africa’s outstanding performance helped them secure a spot in the final after years of effort and determination.
Captain Laura Wolvaardt played a brilliant innings, scoring 169 runs to lead her team to a total of 319 for 7. Tazmin Brits added 45 runs, while Marizanne Kapp contributed 42 valuable runs. Their partnership gave South Africa a strong foundation and full control of the match.

South Africa started strongly with an opening stand of 116 runs. Although three wickets fell quickly afterward, Wolvaardt held her ground and guided her team to a commanding total. Her powerful batting display proved to be the turning point of the match.
England’s batting lineup collapsed early in the chase, losing their first three wickets without scoring a run. Captain Nat Brunt made 64 and Alice Capsey scored 50, but their efforts were not enough. Marizanne Kapp’s brilliant bowling earned her five wickets as England were all out for 194 in the 43rd over.

With this impressive 125-run win, South Africa proudly entered the Women’s World Cup Final for the first time. The second semi-final will be played on Thursday between India and Australia, which will decide who faces South Africa in the championship match.
